What do you love about MCCI?

I really love the family atmosphere that we have here. Coming into a new job can be quite stressful and overwhelming, but the staff at MCCI made me feel welcome and a part of the team right off the bat. You’ve got to love the perks of having a popcorn maker!

Explain your role as part of the MCCI family.

I am a senior communications executive here at MCCI and responsible for the day-to-day management of several accounts. My account list ranges from nonprofit organizations to a Fortune 500 company.

What’s the most challenging part of your job?

Not freezing! We have a wonderful refrigeration (air conditioning) system that keeps us all a bit chilly, even during these warm summer months. Seriously, since I’ve only been here a few weeks it is making sure that I know the correct names of client contacts.

Most rewarding?

When a client is enthusiastic about your thoughts and ideas, and insists on including you in on all strategic discussions.

How do you spend your time outside the office?

I love hanging out with my family. Either playing softball and baseball with my two kids, Mackenzie (13) and Levi (11), or taking them to see Marvel movies. I currently coach Catholic Youth Association (CYO) and recreation baseball and was elected director of baseball for the Grosse Ile Youth Recreation Association. Brewing beer has become a new hobby and I enjoy taking walks with my wife, Theresa, and our dog, Cocoa.

Can you play any instruments?

I play saxophone and sing. I’ve been playing professionally since I was 18 from jazz to rock & roll. I toured Europe playing in the Montreux Jazz Festival and was hired as a cruise ship entertainer that sailed in the Bahamas (not the Love Boat). I also sang the national anthem for the Detroit Pistons, and recently performed and recorded original music with the group Motor Honey.
