The holiday season is upon us and signs are popping all over the city, especially downtown. If you need a break from all the hustle and bustle, experience all that Detroit and the surrounding communities offer:
Go on a light tour: Downtown, especially Campus Martius, is all lit up. If you don’t want to head downtown, there are plenty of other options that will “light” up your holiday season. Check out some of the Detroit Free Press’ suggestions.
Skip the lines and shop local: Don’t want to wait in the long lines at your local mall? Support businesses in your community and shop local. These stores offer unique, one-of-a-kind gifts for those on your list. One place to check out is the Holiday House, which is located across the street from Campus Martius. With 13 unique Detroit brands under one roof, you are bound to find that one perfect gift.
Go ice skating: Ice skating in Campus Martius has always been a popular winter staple in Detroit. Don’t ice skate? There are carriage rides which circle Campus Martius. Starting in January, the rink will be open for broomball on Monday and Tuesday nights. Don’t do the cold? Parc, a new restaurant where the Fountain Bistro used to be, recently opened. Check it out!
Volunteer: Take the time and give back. Several of our clients are looking for volunteers in the upcoming weeks. Check out our blog next week for some suggestions!
