Today we recognize our summer video intern, Sara Schulz. Sara works with the video team at MCCI to help support while also bringing a fresh set of eyes to the shooting and editing processes. She attends Lawrence Technological University and is approaching graduation.

What do you love most about your internship at MCCI?

What I love most about my internship is getting to work alongside creative and respected individuals in the media industry. MCCI affords me the opportunity to work with cutting edge equipment and software to produce videos of the highest quality. I also love the fact that I can have creative input when creating our content and hands-on experience with said equipment and software.

Explain your role as a part of the MCCI family.

My role at MCCI is the video production intern. I mainly assist on shoots and edit pieces together. I even get to put my hands on a camera a time or two and shoot a little on my own for our videos.

What's the most challenging part of your internship? Most rewarding?

The most challenging part of my internship is being able to find the best of the best content when editing. Most of the time, there is so much quality content that I have to be extremely strict when selecting clips for the final cut. The most rewarding part is always seeing the final result after everything is said and done. Also, being able to work in such a respected company and learning so much every day is absolutely priceless.

How do you spend your time outside the office?

Most of my time outside of the office is spent working my other job as the Graphic Design Student Assistant for the College of Management at Lawrence Technological University, my school. When I'm not doing either, you can find me at LTU's gym, a bowling alley, or with my family.

If you could travel back in time, what time period would you go back to and why?

If I were to back in time, I would have to choose the 90s. I was born in 1995, so I didn't get experience much of it. I would immerse myself in all the weird drinks, snacks, TV shows, and music hits as they were happening. Also, getting to wear the cool, grungy style of makeup would be incredible.
