MCCI Team Spotlight with Chris Heaton

This week we are recognizing CFO/COO Chris Heaton, the glue that holds our office together. We are very lucky to have him – without him, we would save a lot of money on coffee but we would lose a vital piece of our MCCI puzzle. Chris’s real talent is the way he individually connects with each member of our team. He is involved with every aspect of MCCI. His personalized attention to others and detail, in addition to the light he brings to our office is what makes him such a valued and respected member of our team. Read what Chris has to say about MCCI below!

1. What do you love about MCCI?

I love the challenge of solving a variety of completely different tasks that arise on a day-to-day and moment-by-moment basis. I also love our culture within MCCI and the people that foster it.

2. Explain your role as a part of the MCCI family?

While, my primary role is executive management, financial oversight/analysis and general operations management, that’s the boring stuff no one wants to hear about. I have a hand in all five of our channels. I am constantly making the rounds, checking on all of our team members, answering questions and keeping everythMCCI Spotlight 003ing running smoothly. Sometimes my job is as easy as directing a question to the right expert within the office who knows the answer. Often times it’s more complicated than that and involves communication and collaboration. Either way, I offer myself as a constant resource to our team even when the length of my “to-do” list could wrap around the office 10 times.

3. What’s the most challenging part of your job? Most rewarding?

It is extremely challenging to prioritize each new daily challenge and obstacle. However identifying and resolving those challenges, which ultimately result in helping one of our clients, is the most rewarding part.

4. How do you spend your time outside of the office?

I love to spend time with my family. We have a cottage up north in Traverse City and we try to spend as much time as possible up there: hanging out outdoors, boating and kayaking.

5. Who would win in a fight between Spiderman and Batman?

Batman is the world’s greatest detective and he will always figure out how to defeat his adversary, even Spiderman.
