What do you love about MCCI?
I love the variety of clients we have, and how diverse they all are. We have the privilege of working with a vast selection of companies from smaller businesses, to nonprofits, to large global corporations. I also love, and very much believe in, the culture of MCCI: that above all else MCCI employees have the utmost integrity and hold themselves accountable. The people that I work with are another large part of why I love MCCI.
Explain your role as a part of the MCCI family.
I have been a Communications Executive for over 8 months here, focusing on media reporting and analysis. I’m able to analyze the reach of publications, potential viewership, as well as the numbers behind PR (aka the statistics). This information serves as an invaluable tool to our clients.
What’s the most challenging part of your job? Most rewarding?
This is my first position in an agency, so the transition from my previous job in nonprofit to this has been challenging. The most rewarding part is simply making a client happy. There’s this satisfaction when we successfully promote the mission of our client and it feels like we are ‘winning’ together. That fulfillment reminds me how meaningful my work here is, and that I am making a positive impact at MCCI.
How do you spend your time outside the office?
I love to travel and I think it’s so important to make time for it. Sometimes, I just explore the city. One day I’m headed to Eastern Market and the next I’ll be exploring Royal Oak. I regularly make my way over to the west side of the state to visit my family. I love to visit new places so I always try to fit it into my schedule, whether it’s just a day trip or one farther away!
If you could be reincarnated as an animal, which would you choose and why?
I’d want to be something majestic and free to roam. I think I would be a Siberian tiger because I would be high up in the food chain, I’d get to live in the jungle and I’d have a beautiful coat of stripes. I would be fierce, but would enjoy a good cat-nap… lots of cat-naps.
