What do you love about MCCI?
I love that we have such a diverse work force and that everyone has a different specialty. We have some young team members that are able to bring in fresh ideas and it’s awesome. We are very flexible and are constantly striving for better. Some people can be stuck in their ways but at MCCI, it’s like “Hey you know a better way, a more efficient method, let’s hear it!” Ideas are always always welcome.
Explain your role as a part of the MCCI family.
I’m the Business Manager at MCCI so I assist in all the financial aspects of a small business. Day to day, I am handling accounting transactions but often times I am reviewing contracts, overseeing purchasing among our 5 channels and ensuring our team has the resources they need to complete their jobs. We have financial goals and I am constantly monitoring our progress towards them and keeping us in line to meet them.
What’s the most challenging part of your job? Most rewarding?
It’s very challenging to wrap my hands around everything I need to watch over and uncovering where our inefficiencies lie. We are always striving to reach maximum efficiency so I am constantly on the lookout for areas where improvements can be made! I think it’s very rewarding to just be here and to work in such an amazing place. We have such a tight knit group and we’re always bouncing ideas back and forth. We seriously are a little family.
How do you spend your time outside the office?
I play soccer and softball on the weekends in a few different leagues. I also love to bowl; I’m really into sports just in general. I love to spend time with my friends and I’m always taking care of my house.
If you could live in any era, which one would you choose and why?
The 1920s; everything was so interesting back then and less corrupt. I always think of the Great Gatsby when I think about the 1920s, with that unique style of dress, classic cars and just a grand personality. The Roaring ‘20s were so lively.
